The Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus feature slightly improved features over their predecessors, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The phones come in many new colors that are sure to please. Apple’s latest iPhone models feature a Super Retina OLED display that supports Dolby Vision content. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus now come equipped with a 48MP main camera with a quad-pixel sensor and 100% Focus Pixels for fast autofocus, a first for the regular iPhone. Comparatively, last year’s models only offered a 12MP main camera.
This main camera also offers users a new super high resolution default resolution of 24 MP. The phone’s photography capabilities have been improved with a 12MP telephoto lens and an improved main camera. Portrait, night, action and Live Photos modes have also been improved. The front camera now features autofocus and portrait lighting, improving the overall experience. Users can enjoy three levels of quality zoom (0.5x, 1x and 2x) with an additional 2x telephoto option.

The A16 Bionic chip, introduced for the first time in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, has now arrived on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. This new chip features a powerful six-core CPU that is faster than the previous generation while being more energy efficient. The chip’s six-core design enables faster multithreaded performance, where each core handles a specific task, resulting in faster processing times.
In addition to the upgraded CPU, the new chip features a 5-core GPU that provides 50% more memory bandwidth, ensuring smoother graphics performance when gaming or streaming videos. This means users can enjoy their favorite games and videos without lag or stuttering, providing an immersive and fluid experience.
The A16 Bionic chip also includes a new neural engine that can perform up to 15.8 trillion operations per second. This new engine handles complex machine learning tasks, such as facial recognition, natural language processing, and augmented reality.
USB-C, Dynamic Island and improved connections
As expected, the latest iPhone 15 model now comes with a USB-C connector instead of the previously used Lightning connector. This change will likely improve the speed of wired connections across the board. USB-C is quickly becoming the universally accepted charging and data transfer standard. Users can also use the USB-C connector to charge your AirPods or Apple Watch directly from your iPhone. Both models are also compatible with MagSafe and future Qi2 chargers for wireless charging.
