A couple were left speechless on A Place in the Sun when they found their perfect home in Spain – and the show’s host mocked them as they cried at the sight.
In the sweet episode, which was repeated this afternoon on Channel 4Jonnie helped Steve and Janice find their ideal Spanish home.
The couple were looking for a three-bedroom villa where they could entertain family and friends, in the town of Chiclana de la Frontera, on the Costa de la Luz, with a budget of £160,000.
Steve and Janice were also looking for a private pool to complete their domestic bliss.
Jonnie and the couple toured five houses, and one beautiful house stood out from the rest.
As they looked around the fourth property, Steve and Janice became excited, with Janice telling Jonnie that she was speechless after enjoying a large pool, spacious outdoor dining area and greenery.
Surveying the site, Janice said, “Wow, this is gorgeous, it looks kind of grand. Oh my God.”
Janice explained to Jonnie that she thought the surroundings were “luxurious” and that she didn’t “think we could afford something like this.”
The happy couple took a look around the house on their own, before telling Jonnie their point of view, and they both burst into tears.
“I’m kind of excited, it’s really ticking all the boxes,” Janice said.
“I’m speechless, this is what we want,” she added through tears.
As his wife wiped tears from her face, Steve said, “Now you’ve got me going.”
Jonnie was surprised that the property had brought the couple to tears and gently joked to Steve: “Don’t start. Look to you.”
Steve jokingly replied, “No, leave me alone.”
Jonnie asked the couple: “Did you think I would make you cry?”
Janice responded, “I feel like we’ve won the lottery.”
The happy couple made an offer on the property and pocketed it for just £143.5000.
Jonnie is currently sharing his own home renovation project with his followers.
The host, who left A Place in the Sun after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, has been regularly updating his social media followers about his home improvement project at the property he shares with wife Jessica Holmes, of 40 years old, and his three children, Rex. , 3, and twins Rafa and Cormac, 2.
In the latest update earlier this month, Jonnie revealed I was “happy to the bone” with a cedar-clad soffit outside the sliding patio doors of his home.
About his instagram account, wrote: “On a strict budget we could only use this material sparingly, but I love the look of it.
“Everyone who visits our home will immediately be taken to see and pay homage to the beautiful cedar ceiling.”
Jonnie first shared the heartbreaking admission that he “doesn’t know how much time” he has left to live in November, after he was first diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2020, which has since spread to the brain.
